Comments

I have had many of you ask about leaving comments.  Well I hope this helps.  At the end of each entry it should say Comments, click on that and it should work.  You shouldn't have to put in a password or anything like that.  I hope this works cause I love knowing that ya'll are reading our blog!!!!!

BORING!!!!

The title of this blog explains what my life is right now.  BORING!!!!!  I am busy looking for a job, had a couple of interviews, and been doing the usual housewife duties.  Andrew has eaten like a king for dinner since I have nothing else to do I have cooked lots for dinner. He hasn't really complained about it but hopefully he won't get too use to it since hopefully one day I will be employed again.  I have made cookies, more cookies and banana nut bread.  The sad thing is is that I am getting kind of sick of baking.

This weekend we are going to look for the Perfect Taxidemist to do his deer.  Yes we have a deer just hanging out in the freezer in our garage that needs to be mounted.  I am sure it will be tons of fun looking for the perfect taxidermist.  I'm not going to complain too much cause at least I get to get out of the house.  I am going to try to sneak in some  dining room table shopping if I can.

My parents will be here in 6 days!!!!!!

And Happy Birthday to my dear friend Cheryl Jean Farnsworth.  You are going to have an amazing year.  Marrying the man of your dreams and having a great new family.  Good Luck!!!!!

Shopping

The shopping here is great!!!!  We are use to having to drive for hours to get to some of the stores that are just miles away from our house.  We have an Ikea close and a Cabela's which we have already been to twice.  We were going to an Estate sale yesterday and it just happend to be by Cabela's so we went again.  Since we were already out that way we went ahead and stopped and checked out an outlet mall.  I had originally thought that it was too far but it ends up only being about 30 miles away.  It was a really good outlet.  Of course Andrew bought stuff!!!!  He bought lots more cold weather clothes.  As soon as I find a job I will be going back.  They had an Under Armour store which Andrew bought a jacket at and I know 2 little boys that would love it.  Maybe when their grandma is here she will pick them up something.

We also ate at a place called Noodles and Company.  It was really good with a really different menu.  You can get 1 of 4  different Asian, Mediterranean or American dishes and thats it.  We both got an Asian dish.  We did agree that we will be going back but ordering different things because they all looked good.

After shopping and eating we came home and worked on the house and then I cooked tacos.  I try to have a mexican dish every week although they never taste as good as they do at the restaurant!!!!

Speaking of 2 little boys that would love the Under Armour store I think it is time they make their blog debut.....

And here is their perfect little sister!

FOOD

There are so many foods from Texas that I miss.  I never thought that just moving to Minnesota the food choices would change.  There are many that we can't wait to try but so many that I miss.
  • Mexican Food- I miss this more than any other food!!!  Yes, there are mexican restaurants here and no we have not tried them but there is no way that they will compare to what we have in Texas.  As soon as I get to come and visit I will eat Mexican food for more than one meal.  We do have Chipolte which is semi-mexican food so I guess that will have to work for now.  I have already eaten there twice in 3 weeks.
  • Chicken fried Steak- For some reason they do not have this anywhere we have been.  A good steak is even hard to find.  We do have Outbacks so I guess when we want a steak we will have to go there.  I miss Texas Roadhouse!
  • Donuts- We have not been able to try anywhere for donuts because there is only one place in Bloomington.  We need to try it so that way we can know if we have to give up our love for them.  They have Krispy Kreme in this part but we don't like them!!
  • BisKits- this is what I make our waffle batter out of.  I have become pretty addicted to it.  Of course it is made in TX so there is none here.  I had to have my mom send us some, although she tried to talk me into just using Bisquick but I couldn't do it.
There are lots of restaurants around that we want to try so I will have to update ya'll on the local restaurants that we like.  This weekend Andrew wants to try a local Gyro shop, I have never had one so this could be interesting.

*******Now I need to get Andrew on board for a trip to TX so I can get my food fix!

Project-DONE

I have completed the project that I posted about before.  I am pretty happy with the results.  I wish I would have had more space to work with but Andrew is claiming the office as his room and is not giving me much space to work with.  I still need to buy some more clips for it but have not found others that I like.  Here is the final product:

The pictures don't really do it justice!!!!

Valentine's Cont.

Since Sunday was really Valentine's I decided to cook for Andrew.  We had roast, potatoes and vegetables.  I also made him a Chocolate Raspberry cake.  I kind of just threw some things together for it and he said it was good and is still eating on it so it must have been.  We did some more house decorating during the day.  We had a Perfect weekend.  Everything was great!!!!

Valentine's

We have had a wonderful Valentine's Day Eve.  We started the morning off by getting our passport renewal sent off for our upcoming Mexico trip.  It was kind of a pain but we are glad it is done. We then did some picture hanging in the office and then off to have a late lunch/early dinner.  We went into St. Paul to eat at a restaurant that one of our favorites from the Food Channel suggested.  We went to The Nook, they are known for their stuffed burgers.  It was good but too close of quarters for Andrew.  They have another location called Shamrocks that we will eat at next time becuase it is suppose to be three times as big.  After stuffing our faces with burgers Andrew decided we needed some cheesecake so we headed over to McCormick and Scmicks.  We also had a tasty cocktail!  After we ate so much we went and took a look around the mall across the street.  It is a pretty good mall that I plan on visiting again real soon.

Andrew also really suprised me last night when he came home from work with some of these

This is just one of the few times he has ever bought me flowers so this will be a Valentine's I never forget.   I love getting flowers so I was super excited!!!  Last weekend he also bought me a new North Face pull-over so, I must say I have had an absolute Perfect  Valentine's Day!!!!!!!

Since I am unemployed Andrew is just getting a homemade meal and a special dessert so I will blog about his meal and dessert tomorrow!

House

This is what the front of our house looks like.  We have tons of snow and don't think it will be going anywhere anytime soon.  The past few days the sun has been out and it has been real nice and things have started actually melting.  We LOVE our house and can't wait to see what our yard looks like in the spring.

Things are slowly but surely coming together on the inside of the house.  I have some things put in place but am waiting on my mom to get here to help me with the final touches (19 more days!!!!!)  We have lots more space than we did in Midland so we love that and aren't sure what to do with everything.  Andrew swears I am taking over the whole house but he keeps forgetting that he has the entire basement which is a whole other story!!  You know if we have a deer on the wall things have to be getting DONE (this is just 1 of the 6!)   Final pictures will be up after my parents trip and we get everything perfect!!!!!!

Project

This is the project I have been working on in the garage. I have wanted to do this for about a year but never had room for it in Midland. So now that we have a garage and have room for the frames, I can't wait to put them up.  The weather here has actually been sunny so I have been able to get out and do these. I am sooooo excited!!!! I hope they turn out as cute as I have imagined. I will update with pictures once they are on the wall.

NOTHING.................................

There has been absolutely nothing going on around our house.  Sunday we did things around the house and then went to watch the Super Bowl with some friends.  Andrew went back to work on Monday and I have continued to look for jobs and get the house together.  We have gotten tons of snow and I have not left the house since Sunday.  I plan on getting out Thursday or Friday if I am able to get my car out of the garage due to the snow.  This weekend we don't really have plans.  We still need to finish the house so hopefully we can get that done.  Hopefully life will get a little more exciting in our world once we are done with the house!!!

Saturday

Saturday we went shopping all day.  We are not use to being so close to so many great stores.  We started the day getting stuff for the house and ended the day with getting us some things.  From where our house is you would not think that we live that close to the city but it is great.  These are some of the places we were able to go.
Andrew's Favorite of Course!!!!!

Both of us like this store, even if he won't admit it!!

I didn't have much fun at this one!

And while we were out we ate Chinese food which was fine with me since I didn't have to cook.

Backyard Adventures

We were told that we would have a chance to see many animals in our back yard. So far all we have seen is geese and a fox. The geese seem to fly in everyday at the same time. Yesterday I thought I would take a picture of the geese. There were only two although there are usually lots more.

As I was looking out a little while later this is what I saw.  The fox had come off of the island which is where we think he is living and slowly made his way to attack the geese.  He was not able to get them!!!!!  All of this action seems to be happening about the same time everyday so we will be doing our daily checks.

Going Away Party

I planned A Going Away Party for Andrew the Saturday before we left Texas. All of our friends were able to meet us in Lubbock for a fun night. I know he was super suprised and didn't realize what was going on until everyone was in his face. Thank you all for coming and celebrating this fun time with us!!!!!

Minnesota Madness

As many of you know Andrew and I recently made the move to Minnesota.  It was a very fast move.  We left Texas last Tuesday and arrived in Minnesota last Thursday.  Last Friday we started moving into our new home.  We unpacked and organized all week with lots left for me to do this week.   Andrew started his job on Monday and has not had any complaints yet.  It is with the same company so not a lot of things will change.  We LOVE our home and it could not be anymore perfect!!!!!!!  We don't have anything to complain about in MN yet.

I went out to do some shopping today for the first time alone.  There is lots of snow on the ground but they take care of the roads so the roads are not bad.  There is probably about 3 feet of snow on the ground and I was told yesterday that it will be around for about two more months.
