Switch Up

It seems like all I have been posting is pregnancy pictures so I have decided to add some new pictures.  Granted they are  not exciting as they all revolve around our upcoming little guy.  But I did find an editing program and at least added some font to the pictures.  Of course nothing much has been going on around here so that is why everything revolves around Henry.  But I am pretty sure that is what our life will be like for the next 18 years and we are fine with that.

Someone's grandma recently bought a new sewing machine.  I LOVE monogrammed things so my little guy is getting hooked up!!!!!  Thanks GRANDMA!!!

A Personalized POLO, what could be cuter?

The only thing that has been helping my heartburn!!!

Some of his goodies, including his carseat and stroller!

My bags are packed for TX!!!!!!!  The sad part is this is just for me and there is a whole other suitcase in the orange one.  So truth is I will be coming home with more than I am going with.  The red suitcase is full of material for bedding so that is why it is so Extreme!!!!

Thursday Thoughts

* I need to do my 22 and 23 week posts. Life has been so busy that I actually forgot what week I was on. I will do them this weekend.

* I will be in TX a week from today. I can't wait!!! Last night I was asking BD what he wanted me to get him at the store to eat and he had a minor panic attack. Again when we lied in TX we were always a part but now we rarely don't see each other. This will be our first time a part in a year and I think it will be different him not getting to see his little man in my belly. Granted I know this will be Good for us(me)!!! I know he will Love getting to see all the goodies I come home with and me being the Best wife have some surprises for BD lined up.

* We have picked out Henry's coming home outfit we just need to purchase it. I haven't seen it in person so I hope I like it once I do! Not sure if I will get it while in Tx or wait til I am back. I'm thinking I'll check it out while there and then BD and I will go get it.

* I have become quite the emotional basketcase. I cry over the smallest stupidest things. I just got done crying over a blog I read. Seriously?!?!

* I am still LOVING anything blueberry. Pancakes/waffles are huge on my list now too.

* The weather has cooled off here and it is so nice. I Love fall and hope we actually have one this year!

* We don't have much planned for the weekend again which is so nice. We do have an estate sale Saturday morning and then need to make a trip to Target. We will also watch football and relax!

Couvade Syndrome

Otherwise known as “sympathetic pregnancy” symptoms that can seem very real. Some studies suggest that about 20 percent of expectant fathers experience some degree of couvade — and other researchers report an even higher percentage.

This is exactly what BD is experiencing right now.  Bless his little heart.  He would die if he knew I took the time to look this up but I have been meaning to make this post for a while.  He has been eating way more than me and craves specific things.  This all started very early in the pregnancy.  An example is the day we found out that we were having a little boy, I wanted Chili dogs and got so he insisted that we have chinese cause that's what he wanted.  There were some episodes before this one but due to me being pregnant I can't remember them.  Well this weekend it happend AGAIN twice.  First was Sat. while I was at JL I told him that when I got home we would have a hotdog for lunch, mind you I had just fed him before I left.  While at JL I got a text asking if I wanted to pick him up something to eat, well I didn't respond fast enough and he had to get him something for himself.  When I got home he informed me that he got so hundgry that he was shaking.  REALLY???????  He had just eaten and had plenty coffee.  Drama.  Well then as time went on he informed me that he needed pizza the next day and it had to be Pizza Hut.  Of course I obliged since it meant I didn't have to cook.  I did ask him if maybe next time around I can be the pregnant one.  Oh how I LOVE this crazy man I call BD!!!!!!

I have such bad heartburn right now that I think I might die.  I know it will be worth it in the end but for now I want to complain!!!!!!!!! It doesn't matter what I eat.  I have searched the web for help and looking for it anywhere.  Hopefully this too will subside as well as BD's food cravings.

Our wonderful friends the Baker's welcomed their little boy into the world today.  I have a feeling Kallahan and Henry will be great friends just like their dad's.  Hopefully they won't do all the awful things their dad's did.  We LOVE you Kal and can't wait to have a playdate with you before you boys are out of diapers.  Love you Baker family of 4!!!!!!!

Relaxing Weekend

We didn't do much over the weekend and it was so nice!!! Friday evening we had dinner and just watched TV. I actually went to bed early cause I was tired and there was nothing on TV. Saturday morning I made us a quick breakfast before I had to head to JL. Then I came home and did laundry and ironing while BD did things in "His" room. Sunday we had breakfast and then I started cleaning out the soon to be nursery. It finally hit me that that was going to happen on its own. We cleaned out some things and moved them to the basement. We didn't do a whole lot but it does make me feel a little better. We then watched the Packers win and had pizza and relaxed the rest of the weekend. We meet our hopeful babysitter for Henry this week. I will also feel better once I have met her. Looks like next weekend we will have another weekend of relaxing which is fine with me!!!

Introducing....................................................

Henry Joseph Van Bakel

This has been a way harder decision than I ever thought it would be.  I do LOVE his name and love that now we can call him something besides baby, him or it.  We had another name that was a very important family name but decided to save it for our next little one if it happens to be a boy.  Henry is really just a name that we both really liked.  BD does have a very distant relative named Henry but it was just a name we both liked.  And of course Joseph is BD's middle name and also a family name.  I sure hope Henry likes his name and does not hate us.  It is an old name and you dont really hear it much these days.

Now since he has a name he needs a bed, bedding, clothes and a few more toys and probably a room for this all to go into(I better get busy).  Good thing we do have the bed that is almost done and his bedding will be started soon and he will be getting a LOT of his BIG cousins clothes in  2 short weeks and I am sure some toys can be worked into all of this.

We LOVE HJV so much!!!!!!!!!!

Some things never change

One of my best friends from college came to visit for the weekend. We haven't seen each other in a few years until this summer. Her trip here marked the second time I have seen her this summer and its like we haven't missed a beat. We have always kept in touch so I guess that's how we know what's going on! Our weekend was a blast! I guess we were too busy shopping, eating and talking cause we didn't take any pictures. Friday I introduced her to estate sales and she actually bought something, then we hit Mall of America. We shopped so hard we didn't even make it to most of the mall but did plenty of damage. We then met BD for happy hour at one of our favorite Taverns. Saturday morning we went to our favorite farmers market then had to take BD back to the estate sale and then went to some antique stores. BD had a blast and found some great military bargains. We then went home and rested for a bit and then went to a Target goodwill(long story but we both got goodies!, then we went and had a delicious dinner and watched football. Sunday we went and had brunch and did some more shopping before going home and watching more football. It was a great weekend. The weather and company were perfect!!!

Leah, thanks so much for coming and our Tech goodies for our little guy. You will have to come back since we never got you any cheese curds!!!

Thursday Thoughts

*One of my best friends from college is flying in in a few short hours. I cannot wait for some girl time!

*I cannot seem to get enough to eat this week. I have been starving. I have been making healthy choices so I don't feel so bad for eating more than usual.

*I think our baby officially has a name. I can't wait to share it with everyone early next week. Its nothing original but just a name that we really like!

*Three weeks from today I will be living the life in Lubbock. I can't wait. We are going to have a HUGE family birthday party minus my BD. Don't worry he will be fine here at home since that's the same weekend as his military show.

*Nine weeks from today my parents are coming to Minnesota to help us get the final touches on the nursery finished. Seems not too far from now which is scary considering all I have done is buy the material for the bedding. Mom is going to prepare and freeze some meals for us so I don't have to cook too much the weeks leading up to out little guys arrival. I better get BD busy painting on the crib.

*18 weeks from today our little guy could be here. BD and I were both big baby's and our little guy is measuring big and has been for my last 2 sonos so he may be here earlier than my due date. I know time will go by faster than I want it too.

*I will be turning a year older this weekend. I have to say I'm not too disappointed as this may be one of the best years of my life. I got my first gift today-some Green Bay coasters. They may be more for BD than me but it was super nice of my client to think of me.

Labor Day Weekend

We got a lot of things done over the weekend. It was a long weekend for BD but I worked yesterday so it was just a normal weekend for me. Saturday morning we went to an estate sale and got a new piece of furniture for the military room, then came home and had breakfast and then the real fun began!!! We went and picked out our little guys fabric for his bedding. I am taking it to Lubbock with me in a few weeks and will have it made there. I think we did a pretty good job picking out fabric. I am glad that part is over! Can't wait to see it finished! Then we went to Babies R Us and did some registering for some things. Of course BD was in charge of the scanning gun and might have gone crazy scanning some things! Then we went home and had dinner and watched the Tech game. Sunday morning we had breakfast and then did our registering at Target. Again BD went scanner gun crazy.  Then we did yard work and had dinner.  Monday BD did more yard work and then went to an auction and thankfully did NOT spend any money!  I worked for a few hours and then did some picking up preparing for one of my BFF's arrival later this week.  I can't wait to have some much needed girl time shopping, eating and catching up!!!!!

Only a few more weeks until I will make the much anticipated last trip to Texas.  It will be the last trip I make to Texas before having our little guy.  I am going to see and love on my family and go thru all of the nephews things.  I can't wait it will be better than Christmas!!!!!
