HOME

We made it home from TEXAS on Monday evening.  We had a wonderful time but were glad to be home.  This week at work has been crazy but I can't complain after having 7 days off.  I will do a post with pictures this weekend with all of our trips details.  We have LOTS NOTHING planned for this weekend so I won't have an excuse for not blogging.  I have most of my Christmas decor put up so I have to finish that this weekend.

Last Post.................

My last post was about the amount of snow we had at the time.  But that is nothing compared to the amount we have now.  We survived one of the worst snow storms that has hit Minnesota in the last 5 years.  It was awful.  Needless to say Husband was convinced we had to go to Estate sales early Saturday morning.  So we went and the roads and snow were awful.  After going a mile our windshield wipers would be solid ice and not work anymore.  Husband said a FEW bad words.  I was scared to death.  We then had breakfast since we were already out and picked up a sandwich for dinner since we had originally planned to go out and knew that was not going to happen.  Well that turned out to be an AWFUL idea.   We got sandwiches from Jimmy John's and ended up getting food poisoning.  So needless to say all day Sunday we slept and laid around.  We have never been sick together and it was not fun.  Not the kind of Bonding I was looking for!!!!!!   We did survive and back to normal.

We leave later this week for Christmas.  We have A LOT to do before it can happen though.  Tonight we have to finish packing, tomorrow work party and Thursday JL party.  I am glad we are busy though it will make the time go by faster!!!  I can't wait to see all of our AMAZING friends and family.

SNOW, snow and more SNOW

This is very similar to what it looks like here.  Yesterday it started snowing and snowed about 5-6 inches.  And it just started snowing again.  I am not sure I am prepared for this.  It sure does get you in the Christmas spirit though.  Earlier today you could hear Christmas tunes coming from our basement.  Husband LOVES Christmas music.  He will [robably kill me for sharing that with everyone but that is the truth.  We are getting out of the house for the first time in a minute to go to Home Depot, a Hobby store(for husband) and to the grocery store.
13 more days and were OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Decor

We have had our Christmas decor up for a while.  I love it and think that we need lots more but we don't really have the space for much more and of course husband does not think that we need more.  I am so glad that my mom was able to be here this year to help me decorate.  Wonder if she will come back and help me take it down?

More presents were added to the trees and then those have already disappeared.  We are shipping our gifts to TX so they are on their way to insure they get there before we do.  We only have 20 more days til we are TX bound.  I cannot wait to see everyone.  Hopefully we get to see lots of friends and family.

I am so excited to see my cousin/BFF that I have not seen since last Christmas.  She originally did not plan on coming BUT now she is.  We always have tons of fun.  Of course her GREAT dad is joining us.  I know that OUR grandparents are rejoicing in the sky that we are still getting together for this special time even though they are not here to celebrate with us.  WE LOVE YOU grandad and grandma Glasscock!

Thanksgiving 2010

Our Thanksgiving was Wonderful.  We woke up and had breakfast and looked thru the ads in the newspaper.  Then I took a nap and husband did some work downstairs.  We then ate around 4.  We had too much food and will be having it for leftovers for many more meals.  It was my first time to make dressing and it was delicious.  We both ate too much, husband had dessert many hours after eating and I did not have any!!!  We looked thru the ads and did not find anything that we needed so there was NO black Friday shopping done.  We both went to work Friday morning and then came home and had ham sandwiches and then we went to the mall to pick up a few things and to Target.  Neither the mall or Target were that busy.  I need to go to Mall of America but husband is refusing to go with me.  Well see!!!!!

Here's some pictures of some of out food:

We left the noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy on the stove.

Thankful-Part 2

One more Thankful post.

I am so very Thankful both Husbands and I's jobs.  We have both been blessed with jobs that we really enjoy.  When we first moved the job situation was kind of rough but now it is wonderful.

I LOVE my job.  This week I have thought to myself many times that I need to write a book about daily events that happen while at work.  No two days are the same, and I love that part of it.  For those that don't know, I am currently working with mentally ill homeless and then just some that at mentally ill/developementally delayed.  It is different from what I did in TX as I worked with kids there.  Some days I might go to the grocery store 3 times and other days I may wittness someone getting interegated from the police.  I love that I am able to feel like I am helping people and that they need me.  I had a client yesterday tell me that they loved me, and the sad part is is that they truely do because they have no one else.

Husband really enjoys his job too.  Right now he likes being the boss and doing whatever he wants.  Because he is the boss he can work when he wants and doesn't want too.  He is wonderful at his job and has three employees that are really impressed with him.

Thanks to both of our wonderful jobs we are able to live a wonderful lifestyle.  We are both very blessed.  We truly understand that there are many people out there struggling during these times.  We are Thankful for our jobs!!!!

Admitting He Has a Problem

I am writing to admit that We my Husband has a problem.  He is officially addicted to Estate Sales.  Last weekend he went to one at 5 a.m and this morning he sent me to one at 6:30 a.m.  Last weekend it was a success and he got what he went for but today I left empty handed.  I was sent to buy something worth $40 and they were trying to sell it for $325!!!!  I am pretty sure they will not be selling it.  We are going to go by tomorrow to see if we can do some negotiating.

Of course we have more sales to go to tomorrow.  We really have gotten some wonderful things at Estate sales.

We both do have an addiction to estate sales.

Thankful-Part 1

I am so Thankful for my wonderful family.  I have a wonderful Husband, the best Mom and a pretty Great Dad.  Of course I also have a good Big Brother and super Sister in Law, and the WORLDS GREATEST NEPHEWS AND NIECE.

My husband amazes me everyday.  He is a wonderful man.  Recently I have decided that we should have our own TV show because if people could see how we act on a daily basis they would think we were crazy.  But that's us and it works for us.  I love that he works so hard to let us live this wonderful life that we live. I love that he loves me and thinks of me before doing anything.  I love him and can't wait to see what the future holds for us.

My parents are AMAZING!!!!  They are always willing to help their children out in anyway.  I am also so thankful that they have accepted my husband and love him for him. They LOVE their grandbabies and are wonderful grandparents.

My brothers family is PRECIOUS.  I love my brother and  his wife.  They are wonderful parents and  live for their children.  I am so thankful that they have let me be such a BIG part of their childrens lives.

I have also been blessed with good in-laws and extended family!!!!!!

Busy, Busy, Busier

This is the perfect title for this post.  Life in MN has been BUSY!!! We have had visitors, working, Junior League and Estate sales have taken over our lives!!!  Although I would not change a thing.  I have never worked as much as I currently am.  Yes there is a reason I am working this much, but you do what you gotta do.  I LOVE my job so it makes it easy to work.  Andrew has also been working later into the evenings some nights.  If I am not working late I am usually at Junior League.  For the last few weeks I have at least been gone 2 nights  a week.  Then on the weekends are consumed with estate sales.  We have found lots of goodies lately.  Husband has plans of waking up at 5 A.M this weekend to get there.  Yes, we are CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

We also are having a date night this weekend.  We are going to see Due Date and going out to eat.  I can't wait.   We have not done this in a while!!!!!!

Birthdays!!!!!!!!!

Three of my favorite people have had birthdays in the past few months.  The first one was Coleman on September 3, Next was Calaway on October 3 and last Crimson on October 22 (Of course KK's was in this time frame but I don't think these 3 cared)!!!!!  They all had their own parties and had a special day.  I was only able to be there for Coleman's party, but we partied hard enough for all 3. I love these 3 very much and can't wait to see them at Christmas.

A year difference

Nothing New

Sorry for the lack of blogging.  Nothing new has been going on here.   We have been doing the usual, work, JL and estate sales.

Husbands parents did come to town this last weekend.  Pretty much all we did was eat!!!!!!!!!!  We did not try any new places for us but did take them to some places they had not been.

My mom is coming to town a week from today.  We don't have anything major on the agenda.

JL has slowed down a little.  Last week I was placed on a committee and I am on the one that plans our BIG one night event.  This year it is going to be food and dueling pianos.  It will be fun although husband is not looking forward to it.  I bet he ends up having more fun that he thinks he will.

I did get final word a few weeks ago from my work that we will for sure be in TX for ten days for Christmas.  I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!  I plan on seeing some old friends and spending LOTS of time with my family.  Andrew will be spending most of his time at the farm hopefully hunting.  We will both enjoy our time!!!!!

Weekend Wrap-up and Christmas presents

This weekend has been relaxing.  Friday night we went and had chinese for dinner.  We use to eat chinese/thai all of the time while living in Midland but we have not found a really good place until now.  We really enjoyed the restaurant and it was cheap too!!!!  Saturday morning we woke up and went to two estate sales.  Of course husband bought books at the first one and I bought some clothes at the second one.  My estate sales actually started on Thursday this week, so I went to one on Thursday and bought some clothes and then went back to the same sale on Friday to buy more.  At both of the sales you could pretty much say that they were giving the clothes away so it was really hard to turn them down.  I am so happy, I bought lots of clothes at estate sales in Midland but have not been that lucky with clothes here in MN.  But this weekend that all changed.  This morning we woke up and had breakfast and then went back to one of the sales.  To our suprise it was closed but me being the good wife I got us in the house and he was able to make his purchase.  He was very proud!!

Yes, I did wrap all of the Christmas presents that we have on Saturday.  Husbands parents are coming this week and we plan on going ahead and sending them with them since when we go home in December we will have plenty to take.  Needless to say we really don't have that many presents to wrap/give so it wasn't too hard to get it done.  We still have 4 more presents to buy so hopefully we will have that done before Thanksgiving.

My MOM comes in 3 weeks from this Thursday. I am so excited!!!!  This span has been the longest that we have gone without seeing each other.

MOM'S GOODIES

To same that my mom is amazing would be an understatement.  She is one of the most talented women that I know.  We will go to a store and find something we like and she will go home and reproduce it the exact same or in some cases even better.  I love this due to it saving $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.  Ever since she became a grandma to the most precious little girl she has been extremely busy.  I wanted to share some of her newest projects.  There is one that I am missing but BOTH of our camera batteries are dead so hopefully I can add that later this weekend.

Here are some of her goodies:

We bought this hat and then add all of the junk to it.

She has made thousands of these for many little and big girls.

We bought the t-shirts and then added the details.  She thought of these designs on her own.
They are AMAZING!!!!!!

I wore this one to JL this morning and had many compliments.

These are the curtains in our office.  We bought the curtains and I wanted to add something to them so she added all the detail.

Come back soon to see what I forgot.  It might actually be the cutest thing!

Prayers Answered

CRD went home.  She was sent home from the hospital on Friday.  I don't know many details besides she is home and that is where she needs to be.  Hopefully everything will continue to heal properly.  I LOVE YOU CRD!!!!!!

Weather

We have been having AMAZING weather here.  A few weeks ago it felt like fall but all of this week we have been in the 70's and higher.  Yesterday we broke a 40 year record and hit 86.  It was a year ago this week that they got their first snow.   Today it is suppose to be the same.  BAD new is is that it is suppose to cool off this week.  Tuesday it is suppose to be rainy and start cooling off and I don't think get out of the 50's.  So I am thinking this will be our last weekend of outside activities although we do have to mow one more time just to get all of the leaves.  We have more leaves than you could imagine.  But if we get them up this fall it will make our yard work easier next spring.

Today I had a bus tour for Jl that was good and husband went to an estate sale and brought home lots of junk.  It's funny that we are suppose to be living on a budget and yet he buys JUNK.   LOVE that MAN and all his crazy ways!!!!!!!!!

Prayer Request

The little Princess of the Dykes family was placed in the hospital today.  She has an infection and a spot on her leg that needs to be drained so they are admitting her for some IV antibiotics.  I know this is all very minor compared to what some babies deal with these days but it breaks my heart to not be there.  Although I know if I was there I would be taking care of her big brothers rather than her.  I pray that she gets to go home sooner than later and that she heals 100%.  She has a BIG day coming up and needs to be well for her 1st Birthday.  I LOVE you CRD!!!!!!!!!!!

Please excuse her hair!!!  She had been partying all day for brothers birthday!!!

Work + JL = a busy life

I have been working lots on top of JL, our lives have been pretty busy.  Two nights last week I worked until 8.  I will be glad for those hours once pay day rolls around.  On top of work I have had a JL event at least once a week and then have something every Saturday for the next 3 weeks.  Don't get me wrong I love both!!!  I have really enjoyed JL and think that it will get even better once I am done with the new member stuff.

This past weekend we did not do much.  Like I mentioned on Saturday morning I had some volunteer work to do and then came home a cleaned some and then watched some football.  Sunday we worked in the yard and on our secret project.  And when I say "WE" worked in the yard, that is right I mowed just as much or more than husband.  Everytime he asks me to help him with something he always ends up saying well you did better than I thought you would.  You would think he would learn that I can do anything-especially the JUNK that he wants me to help with.

Our house is currently being taken over by these groase black beetles.  Thankfully they are only on the outside but it is still disgusting!

Wedding Gifts and Weekend

Two years ago we had a wonderful wedding shower with LOTS of gifts.  For the first year and half that we were married we didn't even have most of the gifts at out house. So when we moved to MN it was like Christmas when I got to open all of our gifts again.  As you would guess there are many wedding gifts that I have never used BUT this weekend I got to use many!!!  We had a get together at our house to watch the Tech game(granted it was an awful game).  I used my new deviled egg dish, crock pot and some pewter serving pieces.  Even though the game was not good we all had a good time.

Friday night was spent getting ready for the party.  Saturday morning we went to our usual estate sales and then came home for more party preparing.  Today we have not done much.  I took a much needed nap and cooked pork roast for dinner.

We have a suprise project going on in the garage and we both spent some time working on it today, which makes me SUPER excited!!!!!!!!!

I leave you with a precious picture of CRD!

11 Weeks and 6 days...............

At this time we will be in TEXAS for Christmas.  CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!  Trust me I am not crazy and counted down the days, the only reason I know this is I had to submit my time off for work and the earliest you can do it is at 12 weeks so I submitted mine yesterday.  It will be wonderful to be in TX for a while.  I am trying to NOT call TX home anymore because this is our home and we really do love our home!!!!!!!!  We will be in TX for 10 days in both Amarillo and Lubbock so hopefully we can see everyone.  It will be a wonderful time but just as I was telling my BFF(shout out Abbye) I am sure we will be ready to come back home.  We have gotten so use to it just being us that we will want that NORMAL back!!!!!  I have done about 80% of my shopping so I have a little more to do.

PS..............  If you read my blog and complain that I don't update it enough then maybe you should leave me comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (YDOAUD know who you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!)  Love ya!!

RECAP

August was too busy and I ran out of blogging time.  It was a great month and it seems to have been Minnesota's last few days of summer. Since September 1st is has not been out of the low 70's.  We made it home from Wisconsin and then home from our seperate Labor Day trips.

  • The Green Bay game was tons of fun and of course they won!!!!!!!!!!!! I really was not very excited to go but was being a supportive wife but to my suprise it was nothing like the Cowboys game we went to last season. It was just like the college football games we have been too. There were lots of tailgating and too much beer. I will for sure go to another one.

#7 is TTU Graham Harrell, we got to see him score his first NFL touchdown!

During the stadium tour.

  • When we left GB we went to the Wisconsin Dells.  It is known as the water park capital of the world.  It was fun, although the lines for the rides were pretty long.  The main street was very interesting, full of t-shirt shops and restaurants.

  • My trip to TX was GREAT and Andrew's trip to Virginia was fun.  Of course I spent tons of time with my family and to even see some friends.  My pictures from my trip are in the mail so I will post them soon.
Our August was busy but I think our September may be busier.  We have watched football ALL weekend and having a football party next weekend.

Mini Vacay

We leave in the morning for Wisconsin and I could not be anymore excited.  I have to see one client before we leave so we hope to be on the road by 11.  I haven't even been to the game yet and already asking when we can go back and at least tailgate.  Tonight we have to finish packing, eat chicken pasta and watch BB12.  I plan to take tons of pics so I will post those soon.  Have a good weekend.

I will be in TX in 8 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upcoming weekends

We have NOT had an exciting weekend.  We did our usual estate sales but did not get anything special.  The rest of the time has been spent working in the yard.  BUT we do have two exciting weekends coming up.  This next weekend we are going to Wisconsin to go to the Packers vs. Colts game and to do some sight seeing and then we will end the weekend at the water park capital of the world.  Andrew is super excited about the game and I am just happy to get out of town.  Then Labor day weekend we will be apart which will be sad :( but we will both have plenty of fun.  I get to go to Lubbock to see my family and Andrew is going to Norfolk,Virgnia for a friends wedding. He has lots of things planned and wants to eat lots of seafood.  Of course I will love seeing my parents and loving on 3 adorable kids.  It's the first weekend of Tech football and I can't wait.  I also get to see my BFF and new baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celebration!!!

We are celebrating here all week long!!!!!!!!!!  Nothing major, just a certain someone's BIRTHDAY!!!!!!  I was able to use my Happy Everything plate for the first time and I am SUPER excited!!!!  I have wanted this plate for the last 2 years but have not been willing to pay the $$$$$$$$$.  But I have an Amazing mom who made me one and brought it with her a few weeks ago.  I am in LOVE with it and can't wait to use it for many, many years.

Anyways back to the birthday.  I started off the party with a homemade apple pie.  It was a success!!!!  We have a BIG Saturday of celebrating so I will post after it's over so I don't spoil the suprises!!!!

Weekend of Firsts

We had a wonderful weekend.  On Friday night we ordered pizza and just watched TV.  Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to hit AN estate sale.  It was not that great although Andrew did get a few books.  One of our first for the weekend was we went to ANOTHER estate sale.  We usually only go to one per weekend.  Well Andrew loved this one and thinks that he did great on buying old books.  He loves books, which leads me to think that I need a post just about the things that are his weaknesses.  He bought 13 books, some being from the 1800's and some being brought over from Germany.  He also got an old pair of binoculars and I got a few odds and ends, nothing too special.  Then we came home to drop off the stuff and continued on our way.  We then went to a sportings good store called Scheels in Mankato.  This was about a 45 minute drive for us but in parts of MN that we had never been.  We then went to the Vikings spring training camp.  Yes we are a Packer family but since we were so close we figured we might as well check it out.  We got there right when they were finishing up their morning session so nothing exciting was happening.  But it was still neat to see.  On our way into Mankato we passed a HUGE yellow building that said it had many types of root beer and sodas as well as lots of candy and pure maple syrup(which we had been wanting to try).  So on our way back home we stopped by and LOVED it.  It is just the kind of store that we would like.  We bought some syrup, a cream cheese kringle, pure honey comb, some apples, a few sodas and just some other junk.  It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back!!!!!!  We then came home and had dinner and watched a movie.  Sunday morning we went to the lake.  Andrew caught his first MN fish.  We took pictures but I will have to post them later.  It was lots of fun and real relaxing!!!!!!

The new job is going so much better than the DC.  I can see myself doing this the rest of our time in MN.  It is really similar to what I did in TX.  I do miss my TX workers but like this job.  But lets get serious everything has to be better than the daycare!!!!!!!!!

I know we have an estate sale to go to this weekend but not sure what we will do besides that.  I need to make a post of all of our estate sale purchases.  Maybe I will do that this fall when they should slow down and I don't have anything to do on Saturdays.

BWE

BWE= Busiest Week Ever!!!!!!!!

Ok, probably not our busiest week ever but pretty close.  Especially since we moved to Minnesota.  Monday I started my new job and had to drive about 45 minutes for training.  Tuesday was the same and then I went to a friends house for an information meeting on Advocare.  Wednesday I went to work at my regular office then had to drive 45 minutes for less than 5 minutes to have to turn around and come home.  That evening I went back to the same friends house and we went to a JSL event. It was fun and I met lots of other new girls, one of them having a boyfriend that went to Tech.  Hopefully we will be able to meet up and watch some games this fall.  Then on Thursday I had a super busy day at work and Andrew has a dinner meeting so he won't be home til late.  It feels like I have not seen him in days.  We are very spoiled with our nightly routine.  We will both be home tomorrow night and we are going to take advantage of it!!!!!!!!!!

New Pet

Last week I discovered that we have another new animal in our back yard.  It took me a minute to realize what it was.  At first I thought it was a rat, which I was not happy about but then I realized it is an albino squirrel.  Weird, I know.  Andrew has not gotten to see it in person but I took pictures.
