BWE

BWE= Busiest Week Ever!!!!!!!!

Ok, probably not our busiest week ever but pretty close.  Especially since we moved to Minnesota.  Monday I started my new job and had to drive about 45 minutes for training.  Tuesday was the same and then I went to a friends house for an information meeting on Advocare.  Wednesday I went to work at my regular office then had to drive 45 minutes for less than 5 minutes to have to turn around and come home.  That evening I went back to the same friends house and we went to a JSL event. It was fun and I met lots of other new girls, one of them having a boyfriend that went to Tech.  Hopefully we will be able to meet up and watch some games this fall.  Then on Thursday I had a super busy day at work and Andrew has a dinner meeting so he won't be home til late.  It feels like I have not seen him in days.  We are very spoiled with our nightly routine.  We will both be home tomorrow night and we are going to take advantage of it!!!!!!!!!!

New Pet

Last week I discovered that we have another new animal in our back yard.  It took me a minute to realize what it was.  At first I thought it was a rat, which I was not happy about but then I realized it is an albino squirrel.  Weird, I know.  Andrew has not gotten to see it in person but I took pictures.

Texas Tornado

The Texas tornado has come and gone from Minnesota.  It was an AMAZING adventure.  No one killed each other so I would say it was a successful trip!

Everyone got here on Thursday evening and we headed to get something to eat.  We introduced them to Noodles and everyone liked it.  After dinner the boys and Andrew played old school Nintendo and the girls went to Target.  It was a great trip to Target.  Sidenote- when and if we ever move from MN I will still come back to visit Target.  Friday morning Andrew went to work and we all went to Mall of America.  We got there at 10 a.m and did not leave until after 7 p.m.  The boys had an amazing time!!!!!!  Me, Andrew and Ryan all got to ride rides on the same band so we for sure got our $$$$$$$$$ worth. For dinner we went to Tavern on France, Andrew and I had been there for Happy Hour but had been wanting to go back.  It did not disappoint!  We all went home and went to bed from an exhausting day at the park.  Saturday morning we hung at the house for a while and then all of the boys went to an indoor water park.  Again the boys got exhausted and had a ball.  We were smart this day and made the boys take a nap before dinner so that went better.  For dinner we went to the 5-8 Club.  It was GREAT!!!!!!  It has been on many food shows and we know why now.  It is known for its stuffed burgers.  We also added fried cheese curds and onion strings- which were all fantastic and yes a heart attack waiting to happen.  After dinner Andrew and I took the boys back to the water park until it got closed due to the weather.  Sunday we woke up and went to Minneapolis to eat brunch.  It was good although Ryan says he liked the burger the best.  After that we went to the outlet mall.  The boys got lots of neat stuff at the Under Armour outlet.  We then had reservations at a place called Crave.  We were going for their all-you-can-eat prime rib and crab legs.  Andrew, dad and ryan all ordered this while mom, Heather and I ordered other stuff.  Ryan had 4 servings of each and Andrew and dad had their fair share.  Andrew keeps talking about us going back since it is such a good deal.  So I might have another post of us going back.  Monday morning we all got up and everyone headed home and Andrew and I went back to work.  My last week at the daycare and I couldn't be happier!!!!!  It was a blast and I can't wait for everyone to come back even though I was exhausted when they left.  I will get to see everyone again in 5 weeks! Not that I am counting!!!

Here are some pictures, and I do realize that they are mostly of Crimson but the boys are just too busy.  Not that I love them any less!!!!

Reality Check

I have no problem admitting that I have had a reality check the last few months.  Working at the daycare has been it.  But I am happy to announce that those days are coming to an end.  As of Thursday I gave my two week notice and I couldn't be happier.  I will miss the kids although there are tons of things about the job that I will not miss. Working at the daycare has taught me many things.  One being that I love kids but I was not getting paid enough to raise someone elses.  Two being that it is very hard to work for someone that has no education and is not professional.  Three being that when and if our children attend a daycare to really research it and respect the people that work there and are caring for our children.

I have taken a position at a MH facility.  I will be doing about the same thing I was doing in TX and I am so excited to be getting back into the field.  I officially start the last Monday of the month.  I have two days of training in another town, which I am also excited about because it is a town that I have not been to yet.

Needless to say I had an idea that the daycare was not going to be long-term but I was trying to make the best of it.  We want to have a family soon and there was just no way that by working there it could happen.  The $$$$$$$$$$ was not there and after working with kids all day there is no way I could come home and care for my own.  I have said many prayers hoping that I have made the right decision and I really feel that I have.  I discuss with Andrew regularly that since we have moved so far away from our norm it is only fair that we both LOVE our careers.  I did love what I did in TX so that is helping me with the decision that I made.

The Dykes' family will be here in 3 days.  We have the house ready for the tornado to hit!!  I can't wait to see everyone!

4th of July

Happy July 4th to everyone from Minnesota!!!!

We have had a wonderful weekend.  It was suppose to rain today but it hasn't so that has made it even better.  Yesterday we worked in the yard in the morning and then went to run some errands.  For dinner we had chicken, noodles and fried squash.  It was delicious.  This morning we woke up and went out to eat breakfast then came home and packed a picnic.  We went to a lake that we have never been to before and really liked it.  It was a little chilly so we did not get into the water.  We did although drive to the other side of the lake that we had been at and found a place that we really want to go back to.  It will be perfect for him to fish at and me to get some sun.  Tonight for dinner we had brisket,corn on the cob and twiced baked potatoes.  Tomorrow we don't have any major plans.  We are going to have french toast for breakfast and I need to organize some Christmas decorations that I brought back with me from TX.

I have two short weeks of work the next two weeks, which I am really happy about.  We are at the under two week mark of my whole family coming to visit.  I cannot wait to show Ryan, Heather, Calaway, Coleman and Crimson everything there is to do here!!!!!!!!  I hope they are as excited as I am.
