October 2012

It seems like this has been a long month.  It is finally coming to an end.  We have had a lot to do and accomplished a lot.
We started the Halloween festivities before Henry and I headed to Tx by going to a Fall festival at a local greenhouse.  It was a chilly morning so you can't see that Henry is sporting costume #1 under his jacket.  He was a sailor.

Then we made our way to Tx and attended an amazing party for Henry's adorable cousins.  My mom and SIL seriously outdid themselves.  A party to remember.  It was the kids 3rd and final year to have a Halloween Carnival for their birthday celebration.  I think 2 boys might be getting too big for this celebration!!!!

Today is Halloween and of course it is cold so Henry is wearing a Halloween tshirt.  And his daycare sucks so who knows if he was allowed to wear a costume.  But regardless we had fun dressing up this morning and will continue to celebrate this evening.  We are going to have pizza and Hen and daddy are going to watch The Great Pumpkin.  Daddy is super excited about this and has been looking forward to if for a year now.

Henry's hair continues to be out of control. Last night it was combed so nicely and this morning he wakes up looking like this.  I have combed it but he is napping now so well see what it looks like when he wakes.  WTH???????  Drives his dad crazy!!!!!

Looking forward to November.  BIG things happening.  We will become Texans, we get to move into our new house and see friends and family.  Looking forward to new beginnings!!!!!!!

Done, Done and Done

Found a house- Check
Find daycare for baby- Check
Buy all new furniture plus accessories- Check

So Hen's and I's little vacation to Texas is over!!!!!!!!!!  We had an amazing but busy time.  We loved the party, he just sat in his stroller and watched all of the big kids have a ball.  My mom and sister in law can plan some parties.  It was super hot but the kids barely noticed.

Sunday my parents and I went to Midland to start the house hunt.  Man was it funny!!!!  Our realtor(which I love) is more redneck than my husband!!!!!!  One of the houses had more cats living in it than I do family members.  One was was just crazy.  And then we had  two top contenders.  So the first house I saw I thought was the perfect house.   We saw it first and then looked at junk, then went back to the first one and double checked everything and then decided we would look at just one more.  I am so thankful we did.  Ends up that we saved the best for last.  I am in LOVE with our first home.  It is so us!!!!!!!!!!!  It has an updated kitchen which I love, 2 living areas and  an amazing master bath.  And then 4 bedrooms one for Andrew and I, one for Andrew's crazy military stuff, one for the baby and then one to spare.  We are getting new carpet in the bedrooms and have a little painting to do but over all its pretty move in ready which we needed.  I can't wait for Andrew to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 more weeks and we will officially be Texans.  Andrew got a  ton packed up this weekend so we don't have much left to do here.  It will be here before we know it and now that we have a house it seems much more real.

Thank you Mom and Dad for all of your help.  I couldn't have done it without ya'll.  You helped so much with Hen and helped me pick out the perfect house.  Thanks a ton.

I found Hen a temporary and then a permanent daycare.  He will start in January at one and then go to another in November.  I know November seems so far away but  it will go by quickly and it will be an important time in his life so we are excited about the permanent daycare.

I also found a new couch(needed a new one since we will have 2 living areas), lamps, recliner and lots of other goodies.  Now we just have to get there so mom and I can decorate!!!!!!!!  I cannot wait to be close to friends and family.  You all MUST come visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday Thoughts

* Nothing really to post but I figured I better post while I can since the next few weeks are going to be crazy and I may not have time.

* One week and counting.  Oh my, oh my am I ready to get on that plane.  I need a break.  I need a break from packing, working, cooking and the endless search for our new home.

* I will be signing the papers for a new home without Andrew seeing it.  Yes, it stresses me out just thinking about it.  Thankfully he trusts my parents and I.  He say's he is fine with it because I found our last two places without him.  Yes, but that is a little different than buying.

* Last night was the best I have slept since we have decided to make the move.  We got the news we wanted yesterday on the move so I think that was what I needed.

* Henry's hair is officially out of control.  It doesn't matter what I do to it, it automatically goes into a mohawk.  We washed it on Tuesday and combed it all down and this morning it is a true mohawk.  I have cut it and its still the same.  I am afraid he may have his dad's hair.

* I cannot wait to see Calaway, Coleman and Crimson Dykes.  More importantly I cannot wait to watch them grow up.  I have missed too much but don't worry I will make up for it.  Them plus my little guy equals some amazingly fun times ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* I cannot wait to spend time with friends.  We have missed out on too many special times.  But again we are going to be there now and ready to make up for lost time.

* I LOVE AJVB and am so happy that he has given our family this chance to move back and spend time with our family and friends.  I am so proud of him for his hard work and determination to get us back to Texas.  Love You!!!!!!

Love my Boys!

Fit as a Fiddle

A few months ago Andrew decided that since we had met our deductible with our insurance that he was going to go and have a physical.  Well the results came back and he was told he was "fit as a fiddle".  Makes me want to puke cause I can only imagine what they would say about this tire I am wearing around my waste.  Well as of today Mr. Fit as a Fiddle is sick.  And I am so over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He woke up extra whiny today and I made him go to the Dr.  Of course he couldn't go by himself so we all loaded up and headed to Target for him to go to the Minute Clinic.  He has a sinus infection and will hopefully be on the mend in a few days.  I cannot wait to get away for a few days.  Between a  sick husband and a half packed up house I am ready to scream!!!!!!!!

Love You AJVB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 Months

Henry-

Sweet baby boy.  We cannnot believe that you are already 9 months old.

You are getting quite the personality and have learned to let us know what you think of certain situations.

You are done with baby food and don't really like to be fed at all.  This is a hard adjustment for momma.

You are such a wonderful sleeper.  You still take 3 naps a day, which the Dr was surprised about.

You still just have 2 teeth but the Dr said you are tying real hard on your upper 4 so that should be soon.

You are dragging yourself wherever and everywhere you need to go.  You are busy!!!!!!!!!

We are trying to pack up the house for our big move to Tx and it has been a challenge with you around.  You were scared of the tape gun at first.  Then you are into everything.  And we would rather spend our time cuddling with you but we got to get going.

You are flying on an airplane twice in the next month.  Once just for a trip and house shopping and the next will be the last time you fly from Mn to Tx for a while.  Your dad and I do hope to bring you back to visit Mn sometime but it will be a few years when you can experience the amusement park in Mall of America.

We LOVE you and cannot wait to introduce you to so many of our Texas favorites and to see you grow in our new home. We have an exciting next month with many more to follow with your first of many holidays.

Love you sweet boy.

Oh how you have changed.  You are so hard to photograph now that you are busy.

Thursday Thoughts

* 2 weeks from today Henry and I will be in Tx. We will be eating delicous food, enjoying family and buying our new home. Crazy!!!!!

* Looking for houses has just been crazy. So much to do between searching for homes, packing and making time for Henry.

* Work has been driving me crazy. I think it's because I know my end here is near. I will probably go back to mental health in Midland but will have a break for a few months. Plenty of time for me to catch up with my parents and brothers family.

* I can't wait to hang out with all our friends again. So excited! Hopefully we already have NYE plans!!!!!

* Last night we talked about all the great things we will be leaving but decided there are way more positives for moving. We will miss the great food, shopping and outdoor activities. But will be glad to be closer to family and friends. And only a short drive from good shopping.

* I never thought I would survive living this far away from my family. But I did and I do think I did very well. But I can't wait to be able to see them whenever I want even if its just for a few hours. I can't wait for my son to know and understand who his cousins are and to make many memories with them!

* It is cold here today. Hopefully the snow will hold off until we're gone!
