Mid week Ramblings

*Husband and I officially only have 5 more work days before we go on vacation. I wish this was a tropical vacation where we could enjoy the sun,relax,eat delish food and take a nap everyday just the 2 of us. BUT it's not,although I am thankful to just have time away. I will miss husband while I am in Lubbock and he is hunting. Can't wait to see my parents,bro & sil and their adorable kids.

*Husband and I watched The Voice last night and really enjoyed it. The judges were really funny and most of the singers were really good. My favorite was probably the couple-they were adorable! And Adam isn't so bad to look at!!!!

*I still haven't painted my toenails for the spring season since the temps have been so awful here. I do plan on doing it tomorrow to prepare for our upcoming vacation.

*Because I Love my husband I am waking up super early to go to an estate sale in the morning. We also have a few of them to go to this weekend. I wonder if there is a support group for Estate sale addicts cause I might need to sign him up.

*Husband and I are going to try and make a trip to Chicago in the next few months. I have always wanted to go, mainly to see Oprah. Last night I mentioned that we needed to go while living so close, husband gave me the green light for booking a trip so I am going to start looking into it.

*7 weeks until the Reeves come and visit and 8 weeks until the O'Rears come. We are so Excited!!! Still waiting patiently for everyone else to come visit.

Farewell Flannel

Today we are officially getting rid of the flannel sheets for Winter 2010.  I didn't think this day was going to come since our winter has been so long. I am beyond thankful!!!  Flannel sheets are not the easiest to work with and are usually not the cutest.  Husband  is going to be very shocked when he gets in bed as he is  not ready for cotton sheets.  This morning he was being a brat and I threatened to change the sheets and he said no because it is still cool.  It is cooler than this time last year but good grief it is almost May.  It is suppose to be in the upper 50's this week and of course some rain.  Regardless we are getting rid of the flannel this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday night we had at home date night.  We watched Red and ate chicken pitas.  It was a perfect night.  Saturday we ran errands all morning then came home and rested and then went to have dinner for our anniversary.  After dinner we watched The Other Guys.  It was good but I liked Red better.  Today we had breakfast and doing chores around the house.  Later we plan on walking to Walgreen's to get a few things and then have a steak dinner.  It has been a Wonderful Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today husband and I are celebrating our 3 year anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am in the office blogging and he is in the living room on the computer watching the military channel.  Super Romantic.  I did get a card and flowers. Man husband sure has changed since our college days.  I on the other hand did not get him anything.  We usually get each other cards for holidays but I looked at 2 different stores and could not find a card that I liked so at that point I just gave up.  We had Thai food for dinner and have plans of going out to dinner this weekend for the real celebration.
 

I LOVE Andrew Van Bakel. I Love spending Saturday mornings in the car waiting for estate sales.  We have some of our best conversations during this time.  I Love when he talks to me in baby talk.  I Love that everyday when he gets home from work he questions how many times I have talked to my mommy.  I Love that he never complains about what we have for meals and gets so excited about some of the things I make.  I Love that he is very protective of me.  I Love that when I receive pictures of the 3 most precious kids he looks at them and we talk about them.  I Love that he supports my career although I know deep down it drives him crazy.  I Love that he calls me the most BIZARRE nick names (too crazy to share on the web).  I Love that he is a manly man and takes care of the things a man should take care of.  I Love Andrew Van Bakel.

Spring Snow

***Post made while sitting in car waiting for an estate sale with husband***

Last time I checked Spring was on the calendar but I guess Minnesota doesn't understand that so like I said it snowed here last night. Not a lot but enough to not allow you to wear spring attire. The worst part is is that there for a few days it was warm enough to wear capris and sandals and now its back to wearing fleece. Hopefully next week the temps will go up again!!! It can only get better.

Husband and I have a pretty boring weekend. We are at an estate sale then he is going to a military show. I was suppose to have JL but it got canceled due to a measles out breakout. Yes there are crazy people out there that don't immunize their kids. So I am going to the grocery store and run some other errands. Tomorrow I think we may go to a flea market and relax since we can't do much outside.

One week closer to our trip to TX and our visitors coming to see us.
Next week is our anniversary so prepare yourself for a gushy post!!!!

Usual Thursday ThoughtS

I make this post while "working". Tonight I have been lucky enough to go to the movies. We are watching Ringo. It is a cute movie I just felt the need to make a post. It seems like the weeks have been flying by!! Which I Love,maybe it has something to do with the nicer weather. Husband and I have enjoyed some evening walks. With the weeks flying by it just means closer to arriving in TX and our upcoming visitors. Speaking of visitors we found out this week that we are going to have more friends coming to visit us. We are thrilled that the O'Rears are going to make a trip up this way. Of course the planned I am I am already trying to plan what to do while they are here. We are so thankful that our friends Love us enough to come and see us. Now the rest of you we are just waiting on your exact dates(Micheal Glasscock, Ashlee Glasscock, The Bakers, Katherine Sanchez, Sally Shelton). You know who you are. Hurry up the dates are filling up fast!!!!!

This weekend we are going to do some yard work and relax. Next weekend I have JL all day Saturday and husband is going to a military show. The next weekend we are celebrating our anniversary and easter. The last weekend in April I will be getting our things together. The first weekend in May we will be in TX!!! Then 6 weeks later the awesome Reeves come to visit then the O'Rears are coming. I know the girls will have FUN but I can only imagine what the boys will get into!!!!! I have designated myself the sober one for both visits!!b! After all our friends visits I have another trip to Houston to meet my mom and of course we will have a Blast!!! No boys allowed on that trip!!

March

I am so glad that March is over. It was not a good month in the Van Bakel house. What makes it worse is we will NEVER forget this month. It was cold,crappy,snowy,crappy,sad and again CRAPPY. Needless to say it was a hard month and we are glad its over and looking forward to another month. Bring on April and the rest of 2011 as it can only get better from here!!!
